#20190602 - Final year BE Mechanical student from Rameswaram

Hailing from the cyclone-prone Pamban area of Ramanathapuram district, this student was among the toppers in his school. He was determined to study further and has now reached the final year of his mechanical engineering degree in a college in Kancheepuram. 

The student's father is a daily wage fisherman. His younger brother studies Class X in a government school. 

An NGO helped fund the student's engineering studies during the first two years of his course. In his third year, he did not receive any financial assistance and only managed to pay his fees before the day of his examinations by taking a loan from a local moneylender. 

The student is about to start his fourth year and has requested Aalayam's assistance for hostel fees. After review, a sum of Rs. 35,000 has been approved towards his accommodation expenses.
